Despite the fact that the series finale aired in 2019, The Big Bang Theory remains one of the most-watched and best-loved TV shows of all time. The American sitcom, which follows the lives of four socially awkward friends and their love interests, first hit our screens back in 2007 and ran for 12 seasons. Famously, the cast earned $1 million (£797k) per episode towards the end – so it's no wonder that the real-life Howard, Sheldon, Penny, Leonard and Raj have amassed some incredible homes. Click or scroll on and let's take a look...

During the 12 seasons of The Big Bang Theory, we watched as Johnny Galecki brought his character, Leonard Hofstadter, full circle. The will-they-won't-they love story between Leonard and Penny was the driving force of the show and fans were overjoyed to watch the characters tie the knot in Las Vegas at the beginning of season nine. Thanks to the show, Galecki now has an estimated net worth of $100 million (£80m) and he's spent his money very wisely indeed...

Johnny Galecki bought this charming residence from action movie hero Jason Statham in 2015, paying $9.2 million (£7.3m). Before that, the pad had been owned by fellow actor Ben Stiller, who sold it to Statham in 2011 for $7.3 million (£5.8m). Galecki lived at the residence, which can be found in a quiet enclave of the Hollywood Hills, until March 2021, when he decided to lease it out for a staggering $45,000 (£36k) a month. He finally sold it in November 2022 for $11.1 million (£8.8m) making it the fifth priciest sale in that area last year, say reports.

So what's so special about it? Well, the near 5,300-square-foot historic home comes complete with a three-bedroom main house and a two-bedroom guest villa that's perfect for visiting VIPs. The house sits behind secure electronic gates and boasts an interior outfitted with stunning period features. Dating back to 1929, the rooms benefit from exposed beamed ceilings, terracotta tiles, antique light fixtures, full-height baronial fireplaces and hardwood floors.

There's a light-filled lounge, an eat-in chef's kitchen, a wood-clad library that Galecki used as a music room, a billiards room, a movie den, a TV lounge and a state-of-the-art screening room wrapped in wood panelling and furnished with a plush velvet sectional. There's even a hidden speakeasy with a stocked bar, a pressed tin ceiling and leather seating. Yet the master suite is perhaps the home's most enticing space, thanks to its leather wall, private balcony and luxurious ensuite.

Of course, the luxurious backyard is the perfect place to soak up the sunshine. There's a covered dining terrace with an outdoor fire, a mosaic-tiled swimming pool, a sunbathing patio, numerous water features and lush expanses of lawn. Today, Galecki is thought to live in Nashville, Tennessee, where he co-owns a restaurant. He previously owned a 160-acre ranch in Santa Margarita, California, which he listed in 2019 for $825,000 (£657k), despite paying $1.2 million (£956k) for the place eight years earlier.

Born in California in 1985, Kaley Cuoco landed her breakthrough role in the late 1990s, playing Bridget Hennessy in 8 Simple Rules. Today, she's known for playing Penny in The Big Bang Theory, the aspiring actress who lived across the hallway from Sheldon and Leonard. After 12 seasons, Cuoco racked up an estimated fortune of $100 million (£80m). Unsurprisingly, Cuoco has used her money to invest in one or two beautiful homes along the way.

Cuoco bought this gorgeous Mediterranean-inspired villa from none other than Khloe Kardashian back in 2014 for $5.5 million (£4.4m). The TV star discussed the property in the book, The New Glamour, which was written by her interior designer Jeff Andrews, who previously decorated the home for Khloe. "I fell in love with the house but also everything that came with it. The interior decoration, the furniture, the art, I wanted it all," Cuoco is quoted saying in the book.

The elegant mansion can be found inside an exclusive gated community in the celebrity hot spot of Mulholland Park, Los Angeles, providing plenty of privacy and security for the actor. Spanning 8,000 square feet, the grand residence comes complete with a two-storey foyer with a sweeping staircase and a playful living room with a custom-made rug, textured Hermès wallpaper, a statement ceiling, a built-in bar nook, vibrant furnishings and a swing chair hanging from the ceiling.

Further inside the house you'll find a movie theatre, a dining room and a huge kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, a centre island, breakfast nook and more bold wallpaper choices. The room opens out onto a cosy family room, covered in floor-to-ceiling mosaic tiles. There are six bedrooms, three walk-in closets, eight bathrooms and no end of unique and unusual interior touches.

Outside, there's also an in-ground pool and spa, numerous firepits and an outdoor kitchen with covered dining areas. Just after wrapping up the final season of The Big Bang Theory, Cuoco decided to wave goodbye to the house. She placed it on the market for $6.9 million (£5.5m) in May 2019, but after three months with no takers, she cut the price significantly. It finally sold for just shy of $4 million (£3.2m), which means she lost over $1.5 million (£1.2m) on her initial investment.

Despite the loss, Cuoco stepped up her real estate game, putting down 50% of the $12 million (£9.6m) asking price to buy this dreamy mansion in the city of Hidden Hills, California with her husband Karl Cook. According to Variety, the modern farmhouse-style residence was newly built in 2020 and comes with over an acre of land, equestrian facilities and an outdoor pool.

Since the deal went down off-market, we sadly can't take a look inside, but Cuoco regularly took to Instagram to share snaps of the property, which is spacious, modern and luxurious. However, the couple has now sadly split and quietly sold the house in another off-market deal for $16.2 million (£12.9m), making a hefty profit on the sale.

The Flight Attendant star didn’t hang around, however, and invested in another property in April 2022, snapping up this ultra-modern Agoura Hills mansion, about 40 miles west of downtown LA, for $5.2 million (£4.1m) from Twilight actor Taylor Lautner, reports Architectural Digest. So taken was Cuoco with the building apparently, that she offered a quarter of a million dollars over the asking price. However, she quickly flipped the house back on the market in June 2023, just over a year later.

The quick turnaround followed the birth of the star's first child in April 2023 with her current partner, Ozark actor, Tom Pelphrey. Perhaps the home didn't quite meet their needs as a growing family. In total, the property offers 5,647 square feet of space,  five bedrooms, four bathrooms and seamless indoor and outdoor living and entertaining spaces.

The two-storey concrete and glass structure provides wrap-around views of the surrounding craggy mountains and includes show-stopping features like this courtyard entrance hall with fire pit and vertigo-inducing staircase.

When it comes to The Big Bang Theory, no character is more iconic or memorable than Sheldon Cooper, the socially-awkward theoretical physicist, played by Jim Parsons. The four-time Emmy-winning sitcom star was named the world's highest-paid television actor by Forbes in 2018 and his net worth is thought to be in the region of $160 million (£127.5m). Thanks to the success of TBBT, Parsons has since starred in the likes of The Boys in the Band and narrates the popular spin-off, Young Sheldon. Let's see where he lives...

Nestled in the glamourous LA neighbourhood of Los Feliz, Jim Parsons picked up this Hacienda-style home back in 2015 from The Batman star Robert Pattinson, paying just under $6.4 million (£5m) for the privilege. While Parsons' real estate history is well-publicised, Mayim Bialik, who played his on-screen girlfriend, neurobiologist Amy Farrah Fowler, is highly private, though her home is thought to be in the Californian city of San Diego.

Secluded on over an acre of land, Jim's ultra-secure home was designed by architect Stiles O. Clements in the early 1920s. The two-storey residence has three bedrooms, three bathrooms and endless living spaces for relaxing, entertaining and working across its 4,026-square-foot interior. There's a grand foyer with stained-glass windows and a checkerboard marble floor, as well as a sophisticated lounge with a baronial stone fireplace, a hand-stencilled wood ceiling and walls of French doors.

Elsewhere, there's a dining room with a barrel-vaulted ceiling, a cosy library, a small morning room and a beautiful kitchen, kitted out with custom green cabinets, designer appliances and stone countertops. Upstairs, the master suite offers a private loggia overlooking the gardens, a dressing room lined with floor-to-ceiling wardrobes and an ensuite with a two-person copper soaking tub.

Head outside and you'll find a backyard perfectly suited to the Californian climate. There's a furnished terrace for hosting, a swimming pool, a koi pond and a landscaped garden. Despite its beauty, location and scale, Parsons struggled to off-load the estate. He first listed it in April 2018 for just over $8.9 million (£7m) and eventually sold it a year later in April 2019 for $6.9 million (£5.5m), after failing to find a buyer. He is said to still own a residence overlooking Gramercy Park in New York City.

Before landing a part on The Big Bang Theory, Simon Helberg appeared in the likes of Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Less Than Perfect. Yet it was his role as Howard Wolowitz that truly made him a household name and worth around $50 million (£39.8m). Helberg spent some of his money on a stunning historic mansion in the Los Feliz district of Los Angeles and it turns out he's a tad more stylish than his nerdy alter-ego might suggest...

Just a few weeks after wrapping the final season of The Big Bang Theory, Helberg snapped up this incredible house in the neighbourhood where he was born for nearly $6.9 million (£5.5m). Almost four years later, the restored 1930s Spanish Colonial residence was back on the market for almost $9 million (£7.4) and sold in April 2023 for $7.8 million (£6.2m).

Howard, who is known for his questionable fashion sense, may well approve of the vibrantly patterned sofa in the main living room but might stand out against the tastefully decorated interiors. The house and guesthouse, with a floor space of 4,000 square feet, have been totally redesigned and restored by LA interior design studio Nickey Kehoe, famous for its vintage-inspired furnishings.

The dwelling was built in 1955 and inside, every room blends period elements with contemporary interior design beautifully. Much like the homes of Helberg's co-stars, this pad was once owned by two other celebrities. Comedy actor Vince Vaughn purchased the Hollywood Hills home from Kate Bosworth in July 2014, paying just shy of $2.4 million (£1.9m), which highlights how quickly property prices can rise in Los Angeles.

From its carved-wood front door to its wide oak boards and Mediterranean tiles, there's much to admire about this stunning residence, which the actor shares with wife Jocelyn Towne. Across its two floors lies a double-height entrance hall, a living room, a dining room, an eat-in kitchen and five bedrooms, including a staff suite and a master suite, which has a retro-inspired ensuite bathroom and a balcony that overlooks the backyard.

The property sits on three-quarters of an acre of lawn and landscaped gardens, which include a pool, a meditation sanctuary with koi pond and a large terraced hillside containing an orchard of fruit trees, wild flowers and seating area. The remarkable space has even been designated a Certified Monarch butterfly way station, making it an invaluable asset to any nature lovers. So why is he selling up?

It might have something to do with another property the actor bought in the city of Pasadena, California in February 2022. According to Estate Agent, Simon Helberg paid $8.4 million (£6.7m) for this 116-year-old property, which sits on the edge of the San Gabriel Valley and boasts a 23-room main house, a substantial pool house and a 1,200-square-foot garage with four car stalls, an attic and a workshop.

Unlike his other home, Helberg's second property is far less modern. It was designed in 1906 in the English Tudor Revival style by iconic local architect, Frederick L. Roehrig, who's credited with curating some of the city's most striking homes. The main mansion spans 7,200 square feet and offers rooms decked out with original wood panelling, oak and mahogany ceilings, oversized windows, brick fireplaces and historic built-ins.

Inside, there's a light-filled entrance hall, formal sitting and dining rooms, a huge L-shaped kitchen, a library with an oak bar and an office. What's more, you'll find a powder room, four ensuite bedrooms and a primary bedroom with a sitting area, dual closets and dual marble bathrooms. There's also a separate bedroom suite designed for a live-in housekeeper. The luxury basement has also been renovated and now houses a screening room and a temperature-controlled wine cellar.

The basement level also boasts a guest bedroom with French doors that open onto the garden. Outside, you'll find resort-style amenities, including an outdoor kitchen, a built-in barbecue, a stone bar, a sunbathing patio, a swimming pool, manicured gardens and plenty of places for enjoying evening drinks under the stars. And if he ever gets bored, the actor also has a 6.5-acre equestrian estate in Carpinteria, south of Santa Barbara and Montecito.

It might surprise you to learn that Kunal Nayyar, who played hopeless-in-love Raj Koothrappali, was actually born in London, UK, but moved to the United States in 1999. After landing a few small roles in the likes of NCIS, Nayyar got his lucky break with The Big Bang Theory and is now thought to be worth $45 million (£35.9m). Since Big Bang came to an end, the actor has starred in the popular Netflix show, Criminal: UK, but remains a resident of California. Let's take a look at his home...

Kunal Nayyar purchased this secluded compound in late 2011 for a little under $2.9 million (£2.3m). The elegant historic house can be found in the Nichols Canyon area of the Hollywood Hills and spans an impressive 4,102 square feet. During his residency, Nayyar and his wife, designer Neha Kapur, undertook a major renovation project and invited Architectural Digest inside for a guided tour in 2017.

The actor's long-time hacienda-style home sits on just over half an acre of land and dates back to the late 1940s. It boasts three bedrooms, an entrance gallery topped with a skylight, a spacious living room designed for both relaxing and large-scale entertaining, a dining room that can seat 10 guests, a kitchen with black granite countertops and three bathrooms.

Every room benefits from gorgeous period features, such as hardwood floors, original built-ins, elegant light fixtures, fireplaces and white panelled walls—not to mention large windows that flood every space with natural light. We're obsessed with the master suite, with its endless French doors that open to a private, wraparound patio.

There are plenty of luxurious touches outside, too. The backyard offers two detached guest villas, a fitness pavilion and park-like grounds that incorporate tree-shaded lawns, plus a swimming pool and gorgeous outdoor living areas. “If we’re fortunate enough, until the day we die, we’re never going to sell this house,” Nayyar told Architectural Digest in 2017. However, in August 2020, the TV star changed his mind, and sold the secluded compound for $3.9 million (£3.1m).

The sale was likely due to the fact that in October 2019, Nayyar snapped up a second home. This time, he put down $7.5 million (£6m) for this unique property in the Hancock Park neighbourhood of Los Angeles. The English Tudor-style manor house was constructed in the mid-1920s and was once owned by 90s movie star, Nicolas Cage, who bought the pad in 2001 for a mere $2.7 million (£2.1m).

Much like Nayyar's long-term residence, this one offers plenty of space and style, too. As well as a one-acre garden and a 7,070-square-foot main house, there's also a standalone guest house, a large home gym and another studio that could be transformed into an office or a pool house. Inside the main residence, you'll find striking living spaces that blend traditional décor with modern design. Think wainscotting and stunning leaded glass windows.

The pad encompasses a grand, double-height foyer, a formal living room, a dining room wrapped in faux-bois wallpaper, a panelled library with floor-to-ceiling bookcases, a light-filled family room and a luxurious kitchen with a marble-topped island, a snack bar, top-grade appliances and a breakfast nook tucked into a bay window.

The master suite is the size of the average city apartment and comes with an adjoining nursery, two walk-in closets, a spacious private sitting room and a marble and mirror bathroom. Outside, there are endless terraces for hosting, as well as lush lawns, a swimming pool and spa. Perhaps this will be the couple's long-time family home or perhaps Nayyar is planning on following in the footsteps of countless other celebrities, such as Jennifer Aniston and Adam Levine, who make a killing flipping homes across America. Meanwhile, in May 2023 he listed his one-bedroom Fifth Avenue penthouse for a cool $2.8 million (£2.2m). We can't wait to see what he does next...
