Tom Hanks' bespoke Airstream
Lauded American actor Tom Hanks may be used to the Hollywood high life, but he happily traded his mansion for a home on the road while filming hits including 1993's Sleepless in Seattle to 2017's The Circle. While on set, Tom Hanks would kick back and enjoy some downtime in his custom Airstream trailer.
Tom Hanks' bespoke Airstream
The two-time Oscar winner snapped up his home on wheels in 1993. The 1992 Model 34 Limited Excella Travel trailer was bought by the actor as an empty shell and he completely customised its interior. The Airstream was a home-away-from-home for the actor, who also spent time entertaining friends, colleagues and cast members in the 35-foot-long trailer.
Tom Hanks' bespoke Airstream
While the Airstream isn't the most luxurious of trailers, Hanks had become tired of staying in generic trailers on movie sets and wanted a portable place he could call his own. "I got it in the days when movies moved slower," the actor told Bonhams. "I had spent too much time in regular trailers with ugly décor and horribly uncomfortable furniture, so I decided to buy a brand-new Airstream shell, with an interior made to my own request."

The trailer also boasts a small kitchen, a dining area, a bathroom and a bedroom with everything you'd need on the set of a movie. The lucky new owner received all of these items included with their purchase, complete with all accessories, including plates, glasses, several espresso makers, some kitchen equipment and the teakwood chairs and table.

Finally ready to part ways with his house on wheels, Hanks put the Airstream up for auction with Bonhams in August 2021. The auction house estimated it would go for between $150,000 (£121k) and $250,000 (£200k). It eventually sold without reserve for $235,200 (£188k) including premiums.
Justin Bieber's luxury RV
Pop star Justin Bieber is no stranger to luxury hotels, however, he's also got a penchant for blinged-out RVs too. Justin and his wife Hailey decided to get away from it all in the summer of 2020, and purchased an ultra-luxurious motorhome packed with all the creature comforts the A-list duo could ask for.

The couple headed off to Utah for a glamping break and spared no expense with their accommodation, splashing out on an opulent Marathon Coach RV. This model, which is similar to the couple's design, is one of the world's most expensive RVs, priced at around $2.5 million (£2m), and comes complete with everything the couple would need to take to the road in ultimate comfort.

The home on wheels features an under-floor heating system, voice controls and a pop-up GPS system, along with other mod cons. The plush motorhome also has an automatic awning, which the couple were seen using during their trip around Utah.

Marble and porcelain flooring – complete with lighting effects – runs throughout the entirety of the vehicle's interior, and if the couple fancied cooking up a storm, the kitchen is perfectly equipped with an electric cooker, a microwave, a dishwasher and a refrigerator with a travel lock. Furnished with custom-built sofas, the living space is designed for relaxing, while piloting the motorhome would never be too taxing with massage units in the driver's seat.

Located at the back of the RV, the bedroom features a king-sized bed and a built-in TV unit, complete with Apple TV. Should they need to take care of any laundry, there's also a washing machine hidden away in the back cupboard.

Jason Momoa’s EarthRoamer home
It won't surprise Jason Momoa fans that the Justice League actor loves the open road and campervan life. With multiple photoshoots and interviews revealing his love of the great outdoors and travelling by RV, the Aquaman star often posts photos of his outdoorsy lifestyle to Instagram.

Following his split from his wife Lisa Bonet in January 2022, Momoa was photographed living in a luxury motorhome, which doubtless suits the adventurous father of two. Worth a reported $25 million (£20m), the Game of Thrones heartthrob reportedly moved out of his $3.5 million (£2.8m) marital home, into an EarthRoamer XV-LTi 026 motorhome.

Photographed parked on a friend’s lawn, the luxury RV is worth $750,000 (£601k), and was custom-made for Momoa, with a king-size bed, a bike rack and an infrared camera. The stylish home on wheels is definitely fit for a VIP with its slick leather upholstery and edgy industrial-style finishes.

Listings show the four-wheel drive also comes complete with a wine rack, wall-mounted Nespresso machine and handsome sable brown alder cabinetry surrounding the dual burner cooktop. The more in-depth spec sheet lists practical accessories such as a mounted flashlight, hoses and an axe – axe-throwing is one of the star's more unusual hobbies.

The Dune star is said to have stayed in the XV-LTi while working on location on the latest installment of the Fast & Furious franchise with Vin Diesel, rather than in hotels, appreciating the closeness to nature it affords. Perhaps he’ll end up living out of the EarthRoamer indefinitely.

John Mayer's North American truck camper
Worth a not-so-modest $70 million (£56m), Connecticut-born singer/songwriter John Mayer is another celebrity fan of the EarthRoamer brand. The star, whose hits include 'Gravity' and 'Stop This Train', likes to keep things luxe when he hits the road, and this fortified RV has all the creature comforts he could ask for.
John Mayer's North American truck camper
First debuting his EarthRoamer truck camper on Instagram back in 2014, the singer captioned the post ‘who knows where I’ll end up next’, while praising the Colorado-based EarthRoamer staff. It's not clear whether the star uses the RV for touring or his own adventures.

Choosing the now-discontinued EarthRoamer XV-LTS, the musician’s model is based on Ford’s F-550 chassis and was, as Mayer writes, "completely hand-built in Colorado by extremely talented and innovative men and women". Spanning just over 29 feet, the camper weighs approximately seven tons, and can handle most terrains, thanks to a Power Stroke V8 engine.

With prices starting at around $490,000 (£394k), the EarthRoamer LTS came with environmentally responsible solar and battery power, alongside handcrafted elements and custom finishes "for a luxury overland experience", according to their listings, with a main cabin space seating 2-6, an induction cooker, plus spice rack and espresso maker (of course).

We’re sure he made good use of the over-cab bunk, which EarthRoamer suggest makes a great lounge area for "reading, watching TV or listening to music". Although the four-wheel drive turbo-diesel vehicle is described as a luxury RV, the Grammy award-winner posted a New Year message declaring that "discipline means discomfort", and wishing his fans "an uncomfortable year, all" not long after purchasing his off-road camper. So don't be surprised if you see him in a beaten-up VW campervan instead!
Jamie Foxx's studio on wheels
Actor Jamie Foxx purchased this huge motorhome to use for hosting his online talk show, Off Script. The souped-up RV is where Foxx sits down with his celebrity guests to discuss their cinematic influences and the movies that they love. Interviewees have included the likes of Vince Vaughn and Denzel Washington.

From the outside, this mobile TV studio looks like an armoured truck, albeit a gold-plated one! The vast motorhome certainly isn't short on space, with plenty of room for host Foxx, his guests and even a film crew.

The interior of the motorhome (by Anderson Mobile Estates) is set up like a state-of-the-art studio, with a few luxurious additions. The décor has been kept fairly minimal, with wooden flooring throughout, concrete-effect walls, gold fixtures and even a record player.

The Grey Goose bar is ideal for entertaining fellow A-listers. Fully stocked, the stunning gold and blue back-lit design is a stand-out feature of the motorhome. Flanked by a long picture window, it's the perfect space for guests to admire jaw-dropping views over a cocktail or two.

Leonardo DiCaprio's motorhome mansion
Award-winning actor and producer Leonardo DiCaprio has starred in over 70 movies, from The Wolf of Wall Street and Django Unchained to Titanic. It's not surprising then that he likes to relax and unwind in style when he's on set working on his latest blockbuster.
Leonardo DiCaprio's motorhome mansion
During the filming of his movie Inception in 2009, Leonardo DiCaprio spent his time between takes in this state-of-the-art trailer. With an opulent gold-effect exterior, the 53-foot mobile home is really a mobile mansion. The RV features extendable sides that nearly double the width from eight-and-a-half feet to almost 16 feet.
Leonardo DiCaprio's motorhome mansion
With a total interior floor plan of 720 square feet, the design of the motorhome was based on a luxury cruise ship. Designer David Rovsek was inspired by the yachts of the rich and famous, picking out features such as the cherrywood cabinetry, dropped ceiling and oval overhead mirror, all home essentials for the mega-rich.

The interior isn't short of amenities either, with two fireplaces, five TVs (including one in each of the two bathrooms) and a $25,000 (£20k) shower finished with glitzy glass mosaic tiles. The best bit, however, is the master bedroom, which was designed to recreate the feeling of a five-star hotel suite.
Leonardo DiCaprio's motorhome mansion
The motorhome rivals most opulent luxury hotels – there's even a plush carpet that slides across to extend the floor plan even further. A big consideration for an A-lister like Leo, security is taken care of thanks to cameras that link to the TVs, so you can see exactly who's at the door before answering. He must have felt right at home hanging out in the trailer featured in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Gwen Stefani's luxury RV
When you are on the road as much as Gwen Stefani, you appreciate a little bit of comfort and privacy at the end of the day. The singer-songwriter, actress and fashion designer has her finger in a lot of pies, but when she’s not on set or on stage, she has been known to curl up in a Fleetwood pusher.
Gwen Stefani's luxury RV
While the star's Fleetwood pusher might look quite ordinary on the outside, with brown diagonal lines design, it is quite a masterpiece on the inside as illustrated when HGTV took the tour in 2013...
Gwen Stefani's luxury RV
As a designer herself, The Voice star was No Doubt, if you will forgive the pun, attracted to the clean lines and black and white and metallic grey colour scheme that gives the vehicle a sophisticated vibe. The RV features slide-out sections which create a wide spacious lounge area for friends and are unusual in these types of vehicles.
Gwen Stefani's luxury RV
With its white plush sofas and marble flooring, the lounge area feels more like a hotel than a motorhome and there’s even a wine chiller for that well-earned glass of champagne at the end of the day.
Gwen Stefani's luxury RV
Now married to fellow The Voice judge Blake Shelton, who she wed in 2021, if the star was after some 'me time', she could retreat into the master suite with its own bathroom and adjustable number bed, which allows you to regulate the firmness of the mattress. Plus, there’s a make-up mirror and lots of counter space which makes ‘glam time’ all the easier.

Matthew McConaughey’s vintage Airstream
There is nothing hi-tech about Matthew McConaughey’s custom RV. The Oscar-winning actor has no mod-cons in his 2004 Airstream International CCD 28 affectionately named ‘Canoe’ which regularly takes him across America. The Dallas Buyers Club star lived in it for four years before he bought his first place and it continues to be an office and a holiday home for him when he’s on the road.

The actor keeps heaps of memorabilia in the trailer, including movie posters and sketchbooks and even his surfboard which comes in handy when he hits the coast. And when it came to finding a headquarters for his production, music and clothing company just keep livin, ‘Canoe’, named after the canoe he was gifted on a trip to the Squamish Nation reservation in Vancouver, reportedly seemed like the obvious choice.

Thanks to the star's regular updates on Instagram, it's clear that the vehicle hasn't changed much since then. In December 2022 he showed off his cooking skills outside his van. Once a resident at Paradise Cove, McConaughey is now living in Texas, though he's never far from his home on wheels.
