In 2024, Swiss private bank Julius Baer published its annual Global Wealth and Lifestyle Report, naming Singapore the most expensive city in the world. Similarly, Mercer named the city the second-most expensive, after Hong Kong.

For the last 11 years, the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has named its top 10 most expensive cities in the world and, amazingly, Singapore has topped the list not once, but nine times! This buzzing metropolis, with its modern skyline, has an estimated 5.9 million residents.
