Long Studio is one of several striking artists’ studios designed by Canadian architect Todd Saunders on Fogo Island, Newfoundland, Canada.

Perched on stilts atop a rocky outcrop surrounded by the crashing waves of the North Atlantic, the long linear structure of the studio makes quite an impression on the stark landscape.

The brainchild of businesswoman Zita Cobb, who grew up on the island, the project aimed to use cutting-edge architecture and design to revitalise the economy of the remote community, and give islanders a viable economy after the collapse of the fishing industry.
