The Great British Bake Off stars and their beautiful kitchens
Where Bake Off stars cook up a storm

The Great British Bake Off first hit our screens in 2010 and since then, it has become one of the most popular shows on TV.
Much of its success is due to its iconic judges and relatable contestants, who have gone on to write recipe books and even star in their own baking shows.
With series 16 kicking off in September 2025, we’re preparing ourselves for more sensational show-stoppers, soggy bottoms and Hollywood handshakes.
But until then, let’s go behind the the gingham altar and explore the real kitchens of the show's biggest stars.....
Paul Hollywood

An 'OG' Bake Off judge, Paul Hollywood has been with us from the very beginning of the show and has always been a tough critic. Judging with a keen eye and offering the occasional, rather reluctant handshake, Paul has high standards – especially when it comes to bread.
So, where does the star prove his dough and tend to his sourdough starter? Paul lives a quiet life with wife Melissa Spalding in their £1 million ($1.3m) secluded farmhouse in Kent, reports Hello! Magazine. The Grade-II listed property sits in eight glorious acres (3.2ha), and includes stables, a poultry run, and Hollywood’s prized outdoor pizza oven.
Paul Hollywood

Though the star is very private about where he lives, he has produced a collection of recipes and baking tutorials called Paul Hollywood Easy Bakes, available on YouTube, which give us the chance to step inside his fresh, modern kitchen.
With its dove grey units, wood worktops and high-end appliances, it's the perfect spot to get cooking with the star, who is said to have added a rear extension to his home to create a bigger kitchen and entertaining space.
Prue Leith

Dame Prue Leith replaced Mary Berry as a Bake Off judge in 2017 and since then, she’s become a staple part of the show.
Bringing a wealth of knowledge to the tent, as a restaurateur and cookery writer, Prue decided not to take part in the celebrity version of the show in Spring 2025 as she wanted to spend more time with her husband John Playfair, say reports. In her place, was Caroline Waldegrave OBE, former Manager Director of Leiths School of Food and Wine.
The star, who is known for her brightly-coloured glasses, said she was getting older, and admitted to having to wear a hearing aid, but insisted she would be back for the next series of the main show in Autumn 2025.
Prue Leith

Prue lived in the same Gloucestershire house for over four decades before selling up and buying a home in the Cotwolds with husband John after ten years together (five married) in December 2020, say reports.
Describing the kitchen as “the heart of my home,” Prue teamed up with Omega to create the perfect at-home cooking space. Much like the star herself, the colourful kitchen is bright and bursting with personality – think canary yellow cabinetry, back-lit open storage, a large island, floral roller blinds and multi-coloured dining chairs.
Mary Berry

Alongside Paul Hollywood, Mary Berry was one of the original judges of GBBO, starring in the show for seven series until it moved to a new channel in 2017.
However, even before rising to new levels of fame on the show, Mary was a highly successful food journalist, with countless cookery books and TV shows under her belt.
She turned 90 in March 2025 and received a video message from the Prince of Wales, sealing her position as one of Britain’s natural treasures.
Let's take a look at where the veteran celebrity chef lives and prepares family meals.
Mary Berry

Savvy fans might recognise the cook's kitchen from some of her most popular cooking shows, since much of her early TV work was filmed in this very room.
She bought the home in 1988 and stayed there until 2017, 'downsizing' to a £2.6 million ($3.5m) property in Henley-on-Thames.
Mary's former country kitchen is traditional and cosy yet offers plenty of space for prepping and dining. And boasts a walk-in fridge and pale blue four-oven AGA, visible in this image.
Edd Kimber

Long-time fans of Bake Off will remember Edd Kimber, who won the first ever series back in 2010, thanks to his fantastic technical skills.
Since being named the UK's best amateur baker, Edd has gone on to forge a culinary career, writing three baking books, including the multi-award-winning One Tin Bakes. He regularly contributes recipes to a number of magazines and newspapers, too, including Delicious and The Telegraph. So, where does the star live and cook?
Edd Kimber

Originally from Bradford, Edd resides in London with his boyfriend and their dog, Wesley.
He made do with the existing kitchen in his home when he moved in, deciding to upcycle the Howdens shell and units using Rust-Oleum kitchen cabinet paint in two shades, Featherstone and Fire Brick.
With classic white metro tiles, simple white countertops and herringbone timber floors, the space is modern, fresh and stylish – and was achieved on a shoestring budget.
Kim-Joy Hewlett

Kim-Joy made it all the way to the final of The Great British Bake Off in 2018, thanks to her incredible Kawaī bakes – think monster-shaped meringues and madeleines decorated to look like napping cats.
Paul and Prue loved Kim-Joy's whimsical baking style, which all had flavour to match, and so did fans. Since her time on the show, she's released a series of successful cookbooks and even a graphic novel, and continues to share her creative confections with her almost half-a-million Instagram followers.
Kim-Joy Hewlett

It isn't just her cookbooks that Kim-Joy has been working on. She took to social media in May 2022 to share the news that she was undertaking a kitchen renovation.
In November, she was ready to give her fans the grand tour of the completed space – and it's every bit as cool and unique as Kim-Joy herself! With a bold tiled floor, dine-at island, sage green cabinets, timber accents and plenty of task lighting, it's the ultimate kitchen for whipping up ultra-cute cakes, bakes and cookies. We love the neon Beat the Clock sign – a nod to Kim-Joy's time on Bake Off.
Nadiya Hussain

Nadiya Hussain was crowned the winner of series six of GBBO in 2015 and despite plenty of time passing, she remains one of the show's most loved and successful bakers.
Since winning, Nadiya has released countless cookbooks and has starred in several of her own cookery shows, inspiring a whole new generation of cooks and bakers.
She also has a collection of kitchen accessories and hand-decorated tableware. Let's take a look at where the star prepares her family meals...
Nadiya Hussain

Nadiya lives in Milton Keynes with her husband, Abdal and three children, regularly taking to her Instagram and other online platforms to share recipes and glimpses of her home life.
This has allowed us to see small parts of her modern kitchen. With white, handleless gloss units, wooden counter tops, gas hob and dual ovens, the kitchen is certainly the heart of Nadiya’s home. There's also a central, eat-in island where she can cook while her kids do their homework – the perfect family space.
David Atherton

A lover of bread, David Atherton was crowned the winner of series 10 of GBBO, which aired in 2019.
As a self-declared underdog, David was apparently the bookies' least favourite to win, but thanks to a near-flawless performance in all three challenges, he took the trophy.
Since then, David has released multiple cookbooks for adults and children, and is one half of the 'Sticky Bun Boys' podcast, in which he talks about his favourite TV shows with friend Michael Chakraverty, who was a fellow contestant in series 10 .
David Atherton

Born in Whitby, North Yorkshire, David now lives in south London with his husband Nik and their cute kitty, Rey and dog, Kai.
A regular on social media, David often shares recipes and cooking videos, as well as DIY tips as he turns his hand to home renovation. The former VSO volunteer, who trained nurses in Malawi, has transformed the kitchen in the couple’s home with these gorgeous Zellige pink tiles and his prized Slide and Hide NEFF oven.
Sandro Farmhouse

Sandro Farmhouse quickly became a culinary pin-up when he starred on series 13 of Bake Off, which aired in 2022. Fans loved his visually impressive bakes, which were often infused with flavours from his Angolan heritage. A finalist, Sandro lost the crown to Syabira Yusoff, but that didn't stop him.
Now a popular Instagram content creator, Sandro also has a recipe book, Good Vibes Baking, and regularly posts videos of his amazing bakes on social media.
Sandro Farmhouse

Sandro lives in London, in a bright and modern flat. Of course, the kitchen is the heart of his home – and the place where he spends most of his time.
Thanks to his many Instagram videos and pics, we've all had the chance to snoop around the all-white space, which boasts simple units with glass fronts, open shelving, sleek worktops and stainless steel appliances.
There's the odd colourful flourish from house plants, while a strip light allows Sandro to illuminate specific spots in the rooms.
Nancy Birtwhistle

With a wealth of knowledge and a collection of DIY baking tools, lovingly crafted by her husband, Nancy Birtwhistle was crowned the winner of series five of The Great British Bake Off in 2014.
Since the show, Nancy has become a Sunday Times bestselling author, thanks to her second book, Green Living Made Easy: 101 Eco Tips, Hacks and Recipes to Save Time and Money. She shares handy kitchen and home tips on Instagram and also hosts baking workshops at food shows across the country.
Nancy Birtwhistle

Nancy lives in Kingston upon Hull, a port city in East Yorkshire, where she films her household tip videos for social media.
Nancy often shares photos and videos of her traditional farmhouse kitchen, seen here on a promotional video for her 2025 book Nancy's Green and Easy Kitchen. It features a large wooden table at its centre, with cream cabinets, timber worktops and plenty of open shelving where all of her recipe books are displayed.
Chetna Makan

Chetna Makan was part of series five of Bake Off in 2014. The judges loved her bold, Indian-inspired flavours, which are infused into all of her bakes, and she made it all the way to the semi-final.
Chetna is now an award-winning food writer, with nine cookbooks under her belt – and her very own YouTube cookery channel, Food with Chetna. In 2018, she also ran the London Marathon with 12 other former Bake Off contestants in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. The team called themselves the Baker's Dozen!
Chetna Makan

Fans of Chetna will no doubt already know that she often shares behind-the-scenes glimpses of where she cooks. In fact, most of her Food With Chetna YouTube videos are filmed in her home kitchen.
Her spacious kitchen boasts handleless units in a deep blue shade, marble-effect worktops and tiles, sleek stainless steel appliances and natural wood accents. Chetna's open shelves are filled with house plants, quirky homewares and colourful cookbooks.
Liam Charles

Liam Charles was extremely popular with fans during the eighth series of Bake Off in 2017, thanks to his brilliant sense of humour and his amazing bakes – which incorporated his passion for art and design. Liam was the series’ youngest contestant and came fifth, joking that he was “coming for Paul Hollywood’s job in a couple of years”. Little did Liam know that just one year on he would be hosting Bake Off: The Professionals and became a judge for Junior Bake Off in 2019. He has also starred in his own cooking show, Liam Bakes, has released two cookbooks and writes a regular baking column for The Guardian.
Liam Charles

Born and raised in Hackney, London, Liam lives at home with his family, often taking to his Instagram to share videos and images from inside his kitchen. The space is decked out with colourful, leaf print wallpaper, silvery grey units, a white dining table and an open metal shelving unit where Liam can store all of his essential baking tools and equipment, including countless cake tins.
Manon Lagrève

Born and raised in France, Manon Lagrève learned to bake with her mother and grandmother, but it was only when she moved to London that she found her passion for baking.
She appeared on series nine of Bake Off, alongside Kim-Joy, and was celebrated for her classic creations that all had a modern, French twist. Manon made it to the quarter finals in 2018 and has since forged a career as a food writer and creator.
Manon Lagrève

Manon is also a mother of two, and posts regular cooking and lifestyle updates on her Instagram.
She shared pictures of her and husband Luke’s new home in December 2024, revealing interior ideas for the large London townhouse. The kitchen is relatively small, but has lots of fitted cupboard space, a butler sink, and large windows that look over a leafy garden. “I am just excited to make it a home”, she said.
Peter Sawkins

Peter Sawkins became the youngest ever winner of The Great British Bake Off in the series 11 final in 2020. He was just 20 years old at the time and still at university, but wowed the judges with his Scottish-inspired treats, often laced with a wee dram of Scottish whiskey.
He’s since published two cookbooks, become an Instagram sensation and has even baked for the King. He returned to the tent in 2024 for the New Year’s special Bake Off Hogmanay episode and is seen here back home with his winning trophy.
Peter Sawkins

In May 2023, Peter took to social media to share the exciting news that he had just bought his first home in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Since then, Peter has posted several videos from his new kitchen, which comes complete with pale cabinetry, wood counters, white metro tiles, a butler sink and open shelving. It also boasts a cool statement ceiling, in deep forest green.
Candice Brown

Since winning series seven of Bake Off in 2016, Candice Brown has released a series of books, made countless television appearances, including on Dancing on Ice, and even won Celebrity Mastermind, reports British newspaper The Mirror.
The former PE teacher, who was known for her vibrant lipstick on Bake Off, runs a gastropub The Green Man in Eversholt, Bedfordshire, with her brother, Ben, and has spoken openly about her struggles with depression and ADHD, to raise awareness around mental health issues.
Candice Brown

Her latest venture is Margo’s, a restaurant in Woburn, Milton Keynes, named after her grandmother, Margo, which will serve deli-style food by day, and European-dining-inspired cuisine by night.
Due to open in Spring/Summer 2025, the popular cook posted images of the industrial kitchen taking shape, commenting, “It’s starting to look like a real kitchen.” As you would expect her own kitchen is modern and bright with wooden floors and sleek counters.
Syabira Yusoff

Cardiovascular-research associate Syabira Yusoff, who works at King’s College, London, won Bake-Off in 2022, winning the Star Baker accolade three times in row, reports British newspaper The Telegraph.
The first Malaysian to win the show, she brought the flavours and traditions of her native country to the tent and attributed her culinary talent in part to her science background.
Syabira Yusoff

One of seven children, she moved to the UK in 2013 to study for her PhD and now lives in London with her boyfriend Bradley.
She doesn’t reveal much about her cosy home, but there are occasional glimpses of her functional kitchen with its exposed brick walls and wooden counter tops – as well as a few gadgets to help her with her superb creations, which she shares regularly on her Instagram.
Val Stones

She may not have won, but Val Stones from Yorkshire found a new lease of life after appearing in the seventh season of the GBBO in 2016.
The former headteacher learned her baking skills from her mother and grandmother, and quickly earned the title the “cake whisperer” in the tent, urging viewers to “listen to your cakes”.
Since her stint on the show she runs cooking demos, appears at food festivals and has published a book full of her family recipes.
Val Stones

Not surprisingly, the heart of her home in Somerset is her kitchen. Val suffers from osteoporosis and has adapted her kitchen accordingly installing an eye-level microwave and oven along with a retractable door for easy access.
She has a floor-to-ceiling larder pull-out cupboard, which she says is her “pride and joy”, along with a bake room, which has floor-to-ceiling steel shelves lined with all her baking ingredients packed into labelled plastic boxes.
Martha Collison

Great British Bake Off’s youngest ever contestant Martha Collison was just 17 when she competed in the iconic tent in 2014.
She reached the quarter finals but went on to release two cookery books and has a monthly column in Waitrose Weekend.
Her marriage to husband Michael Haywood in 2019 was attended by several of her fellow series five contestants, reports say. Martha gave birth to her first child in April 2024.
Martha Collison

Martha showed readers of Olive Magazine around her small but ultrafunctional kitchen at her home in Hove in March 2024.
With traditional shaker-style cupboards, a wooden worktop and white herringbone tiles, it’s a charming stylish space. She stores her larger appliances on an IKEA unit, and has an entire cupboard full of cake tins.
“I love handmade ceramics and splatterware,” she says. “So have gathered a lovely little collection from antique shops and independent artists over the years.”
What's in store for series 16?

Despite speculation that Noel Fielding might step down due to health issues, the comedian returns to present the show in autumn 2025 alongside Alison Hammond, while Prue Leith resumes her judging duties, after taking a break from the celebrity edition in the Spring.
Be warned however, she says it may be her last because she thinks she’s getting too old. It’s sure to be a big one, with 12 new contestants hoping to make it to the final and be crowned the UK’s best amateur baker. Pictured here with the team is Georgie Grasso, who won in 2024.
We can’t wait to see what they cook up…
