Lap of luxury: extravagant dog beds and lavish dog houses

Plant-topped dog house

Part minimalist dog house, part garden planter, this cool canine crash pad was designed by Juan Ignacio Ramos as part of a fundraiser for the Animal Rescue Fund in The Hamptons, aptly named Arf-itecture. Topped with greenery, this house has a raised bench so your doggy friend can get a better view of the proceedings. Perfect for a nosy nuzzler!
A pawesome living room

Going above and beyond for his pets, Ben Mazer turned a whole room of his house into a miniature designer doggy room. Mazer, better known on social media as WorldsBestDogDad, transformed his spare room into a living room for pooches Peaches, Challah, and Mitzi, sharing his designs on his TikTok.

If modernist architecture gets you hot under the collar then this cool construction could be right for you. A collaboration from Fountainhead Construction + Robert Young Architects, the house has an extended roof to offer shade on hot days and easy access to a raised water bowl. It's the perfect addition to any billionaire's backyard.
Domus Canus dog folly

What could be prettier in a country garden than a pup pergola? Designed by Kitty McCoy for the Arf-itecture fundraiser it's a garden folly inspired by ornamental structures found on the grounds of stately homes. With a gorgeous zinc roof and even lovely wallpaper inside, it'll win over even the pickiest of pooches.
Snoop E(nigma) mirrored dog house

Perfect for shy dogs, this mirrored marvel is the perfect hiding place. This optical illusion house, designed by Bill Beeton of Beeton & Company architects, was inspired by the Snoopy dog house in Charles Schulz's infamous canine comic character and offers a place of protection that is very hard to spot.
The Hacienda dog house

The Hacienda Dog House is a one-of-a-kind creation from Oklahoma-based craftspeople Beyond the Crate. Created as a special request from a famous Hollywood personality, this unique structure resembles a hound-size Hispanic Hacienda and looks right at home in sunny California.
The Hacienda dog house

If you thought the exterior was fabulous enough, check out what it looks like inside! Clay tiled floors make it both aesthetically pleasing and easy to clean up, and the centrepiece feature makes for a tasteful addition. There's even room for snaps of your dog's puppy pals to line the walls! Complete with your choice of amenities, such as lighting, heating and running water, the Hacienda is more than a holiday home. So if you have a spare £24,500 ($30k) lying around, this pet property may be well worth your investment.
Windsor Castle dog house

Have you ever seen a more patriotic pooch? This is Archie, a Lhasa Apso from West Yorkshire, who lives like royalty! His owner, Susan Crossland, splashed out on a kennel in the shape of Windsor Castle in honour of Harry and Meghan's royal wedding. Do you think he’d fit in with the Queen’s corgis?
Windsor Castle dog house

Crossland attracted the puparazzi in her mission to mark Harry and Meghan’s momentous occasion. She sought out London-based set designers from The Russell Beck Studio to bring her vision to life. It cost £5,000 (£6.1k) and took 244 hours to construct a kennel truly fit for a king. Maybe Archie’s puppy pad will be the Duchess’ next stop on her property journey...
The dog house that does good

This elegant space not only provides a tranquil resting place for man’s best friend, but was produced with Help Manufacturing, a social enterprise committed to enhancing the lifestyle, independence, and ambitions of people with disability. This award-winning kennel was designed by Made By Pen in partnership with Melbourne architect Michael Ong.
Bespoke dog nook

Twitter user @Al_Chris16 got a taste of viral Internet fame after sharing images of his brother’s pampered pooch. In a true labour of love, this lucky French Bulldog was treated with their own private and secluded secret spot in the home, nestled right under the staircase. What a wonderful studio apartment – we've seen London flats less spacious than this!
Paris Hilton's 'doggy mansion'

Even some of our most pampered pooches seem poor in comparison to Paris Hilton’s puppies. The socialite shared images of her ‘doggy mansion’ on Twitter – home to around 30 of her beloved canines! This amazing structure was postioned in the grounds of her own, architecturally similar Beverly Hills mansion.
Paris Hilton's 'doggy mansion'

This interior snap of the ‘doggy mansion’ gives us an exclusive glimpse inside. In her tweet, Hilton revealed that the kennel is two stories high, kitted out with designer furniture and has air-conditioning for those hot LA days as well as heating for the cold winter nights. This is nicer than my whole house, and definitely rivals any other celebrity home! Can we move in, Paris?
Church-style dog house

And on the sixth day, God created dogs...and this incredible mini-church! If your dog struggles to stay silent at Sunday service, maybe they need their own place to worship in the comfort of their own home. Hallelujah! Beyond the Crate have answered our puppy prayers with this truly heavenly home.

One of its designs is the Beam House – a quintessentially 'Colliefornian' kennel. Both flowered by nature and covered by shade, it beautifully complements both indoor and outdoor living without sacrificing comfort or cosmopolitanism.
Mutter'fly House

Offering made-to-order canine abodes, Pijuan Design Workshop's Mutter'fly house is a unique and beautifully created space for a dog of any size to enjoy. We particularly love the green roof for temperature control on this one, giving passive house vibes.

Bone-shaped dog pool

Every puppy mansion needs a pool. And while we're not all lucky enough to have our own full-size swimming pool, you can let your pooch shake off the heat in this incredible bone-shaped water feature, sold by Australian pool provider Dog Pools. Maybe even host a pool party with all your pet’s puppy pals?
Bone-shaped inflatable

Once they’re tired of the doggy paddle (or for those more averse to physical exercise altogether), allow your pooch to experience ultimate summer leisure while they float around the pool. Don’t talk to me, I’m working on my tan...

Mini dog camper van

For the dog who likes to change up the scenery, hitch your dog to the back of your car and get them festival-ready in these dog camper vans, bespoke made on Etsy. Maybe they’ll love the big-name acts, or perhaps they'll be fan-furring over niche techno DJs from Berlin. (Note: these camper vans cannot actually hit the motorway with you!)
Mobile dog home

Never leave your pooch behind again as they join the camping experience with another adorable home on wheels. Their vehicle is even decorated with LED lights to brighten up the campsite as you while away into the early hours of the morning. Catch us back at our tent for the afterparty!
Mini Rolls Royce

Although they can't live in it, we just had to share this! This delightful doggy has both brains and beauty; Barry the Bedlington Terrier has taught himself to drive this mini Rolls Royce. We would not usually endorse any doggies getting behind the wheel of a classic car unless they can hit the road as smoothly and effortlessly as Barry here. Move over Steve McQueen, there’s a new dawg in town.
Swarovski Crystal bathtub

If your dog's home is big enough to include accessories, make sure they are as luxurious as the exterior! Bath time will never be a hazardous chore again. Velvet dog bed

Your chaotic canines may be feeling ruff after a day of running up and down the garden, chasing each other’s tails and burying bones in your lawn. Why not purchase their own snuggle seat so they can kick back and relax with you in the evenings? Although it’ll probably cost more than a ‘human’ sofa, Haute House Home will have your pets laying in the lap of luxury with this plush blue velvet loveseat. Be gone, bland pet beds! Hello, a worthy place to rest a dog’s head.
Lavish white dog bed

Colonia Villa Grand dog mansion

It’s no surprise Hecate Verona claim to make ‘the most exclusive dog manors in the world’; they are the creme-de-la-creme of mutt mansions. Handcrafted to perfection with luxurious materials such as oak, marble and Swarovski crystals, you won’t find anything else of their kind on the market. Roman Imperial dog mansion

Hecate Verona takes classical inspiration for their kennels – an important detail that can be seen in their Roman Imperial Mansion. Not shy of panache, all their homes come fitted with heating, lighting, ventilation and air conditioning, as well as CCTV, so you never have to worry about the safety or comfort of your beloved animal. This really is the epitome of tiny homes for big money.

At around £31,000, this amazing dog house doesn't come cheap, but it is made from quality hardwoods, stone, marble, and dolomite and is fully water-resistant.
