Working from home during the latest lockdown? Here’s how you can get hold of everything you need

With many of us returning to our home offices once more, it's time to fine-tune your workspace for the months ahead.

Whether you need a new desk, a comfier chair, extra storage space or accessories to keep you organised, the right gear can make all the difference when it comes to knuckling down from nine to five.

However, with most furniture shops now shut, you might be struggling to source supplies for your homeworking setup.

Fortunately, some stores are still providing contact-free delivery or collection services so you can get your hands on everything you need for a productive and stylish workspace.

Homebase

As an essential retailer, Homebase stores remain open across the UK and Ireland, while their free click and collect service is also available across a range of products for collection within one hour.

Home delivery is still running for most items but costs may vary depending on the items ordered. Named and next-day delivery can be arranged from £6 if you order before 2pm. You can find more information here.

If you're looking for a brand new desk to revamp your home office setup, this Scandi-style design is a good place to start.

MADE

While MADE’s showrooms may be closed, they are still providing a no-contact home delivery service on their beautiful range of furnishings, though lead times are longer than usual at the moment.

Argos

Argos stores, including those within Sainsbury's supermarkets, are only open for the collection of prepaid online orders, with some stores distributing orders outside the door.

The company is encouraging customers to opt for home delivery, or if that isn’t possible, to collect their items while picking up essential shopping.

Delivery starts at £3.95, though larger items will incur a higher cost. Argos says it is currently experiencing high demand across a number of product lines, so fewer delivery slots may be available. You can find up-to-date information here.

This laptop workstation is part of Argos’s ergonomic home office range, which is designed to help your posture when you're working for long periods of time.

If you feel like you spend too much of the day sitting down, the sleek station can be elevated by up to 40cm in height so you can work while standing, plus its streamlined, monochrome design will match any home setup.

IKEA

Flat-pack giant IKEA may have closed all of its stores in the UK, but it's still running a contact-free click and collect service.

Home deliveries are available too, with costs from £3.95 depending on the size of the order. Larger items can be delivered to one selected room of your choice.

The company says that demand for deliveries has been higher than usual, warning customers that it is “experiencing slightly longer delivery times than normal”. Click here for more information.

Online furniture store SKLUM's expansive office furniture selection caught our eye, with its stylish assortment of desks, chairs and smart worktop accessories.

Free delivery is available on orders over £40 and for purchases under this sum you can expect to pay £3.95. Their click and collect option is free, with orders typically ready within two to four days.
