Fancy snapping up a house for the price of a cheap lunch? This beautifully renovated Welsh home is up for grabs in a raffle

If you’re looking to up sticks to the countryside, it would be tough to beat this beautiful property located between the Llŷn Peninsula and Snowdonia National Park in North Wales.

It would be even tougher to beat the price tag, which in this case is only a fiver! OK, it does come with a catch – that's not actually the price of the cottage, but rather the price of a raffle ticket for a chance to win the cottage.

But given that the fully renovated house has been valued at £290,000, the lucky winner will definitely have something to celebrate.

Luxury escape

Cwellyn Cottage dates back to the 1800s and was originally a working barn. After purchasing it back in 2018, the current owners transformed it into a luxury rural retreat, retaining many of its traditional features.

The perfect blend of old and new, the chocolate-box cottage is brimming with country charm – in the living room, you're greeted by exposed beams and stonework mixed with modern lighting and sleek finishes.

There’s even a stone inglenook fireplace to keep you warm on those chilly winter nights.

The kitchen is a fusion of rustic and contemporary, with wooden cabinets, concrete worktops and plenty of modern appliances for cooking up a storm.

Upstairs, there are two beautifully decorated bedrooms, both with exposed beams and spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.

One of the bedrooms even has a cosy window seat that's perfect for curling up with a book or admiring the cottage’s pretty garden.

The beautiful white bathroom is decked out with stylish metro tiles and a classic claw-foot tub – imagine enjoying an indulgent bubble bath here after a long day of hiking in the mountains.

The home's furniture and large appliances are also included in the raffle prize, as well as private parking for two cars.

There's plenty to enjoy beyond the backyard too. In fact, the area's beaches, mountains and historical attractions are so popular that the cottage could easily be rented out as a holiday let if you didn’t want to live there full-time – according to the owners, it could bring in £1,200 per week.

How to enter

To enter the competition and be in with the chance of winning this rural idyll, you'll need to correctly answer a randomly generated trivia question and pay the £5 entry fee, though you can enter once for free by post.

The house will only be awarded as the prize if more than 80,000 tickets are sold. If fewer tickets are sold, the winner will receive a cash prize instead, depending on the number of entries.

Entry is open until the 15th September. For more information or to enter the competition, see cwellyndream.com
