Celebrity real estate round-up: star homes for sale and property news
Drake’s US real estate exodus: his last home lists for $88m

Canadian rapper Drake has called America home for many years, buying and selling an array of lavish mansions during his residency, including his party compound, the Yolo Estate, which he sold in 2022 for $12 million (£9.6m). Now, the 'Hotline Bling' singer has decided to sell off the final home in his American property portfolio, leaving us guessing whether he's planning a move back to Canada. Click or scroll on take a tour of the house and dig a little deeper...
Far from modest

Drake snapped up the 24,260-square-foot Beverly Hills estate in March 2022, from English pop star Robbie Williams, paying a cool $75 million (£59.8m) for the privilege. But just over 12 months later, the estate is back on the market for an inflated $88 million (£70.2m), which means the rapper will no longer own a home in the USA, according to The New York Post. However, he still owns a 50,000-square-foot, custom-built mansion in Toronto.
Making the move?

Drake began building his Canadian manse back in 2016. An insider told The New York Post that the singer "feels more comfortable" in Canada, so the star could well be moving there full-time. No matter the reason for the sale of his Beverly Hills property, we imagine letting go of the place won't be easy. Secluded in the hills above Benedict Canyon, the property is enclosed by 20 acres of land and benefits from sprawling interior living spaces, lush gardens and jaw-dropping views of both the city and the ocean beyond.
Cool and contemporary

The house was designed by the renowned KAA Associates in 2001 and spans 25,000 square feet. Perfectly suited for grand-scale entertaining (and partying), the main mansion features numerous formal living rooms, seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen with a breakfast room, a library and two family rooms – one of which doubles as a home cinema.
An entertainer's paradise

Unsurprisingly the property comes with plenty of luxurious extras that only the ultra-rich could afford. These additions include the home’s three ensuite staff suites, an 11-car garage, an elevator, a wine cellar, a gym and a games room – perfect for both Drake and his son, Adonis.
Traditional meets modern

The interior rooms are a unique mix of contemporary and traditional aesthetics, and it's clear that Drake has invested a fair amount of money in the house since buying it. In fact, he gave it a total overhaul, modernising the décor and making it a little more suited to his tastes. The master suite, for example, now boasts a chic wooden bed and huge sliding glass doors that open the room up to a private balcony. Some of the rooms still feature classic design elements too, such as stone fireplaces, coffered ceilings and parquet floors.
VIP ready

The master suite is like an apartment in itself and even benefits from a huge dressing room, a gorgeous bathroom with dreamy views and a unique marble tub. There's also a huge walk-in closet that's large enough for the whole Kardashian clan to share. The exterior of the property is just as impressive...
Billionaire bling

Outside there's a large lawn, a swimming pool, a sunbathing deck, a pool house, an outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven, a tennis court and an orchard. While he may be bidding Beverly Hills farewell, we're sure Drake has everything he needs in his Toronto mansion. According to Architectural Digest, the place comes complete with an NBA regulation-size indoor basketball court and a world-class recording studio, while the master bathroom boasts a 4,000-pound black marble tub. Loved this? Well, Drake isn't the only celeb moving on to pastures new...

Taylor Swift's Cornelia Street townhouse available to rent

Having released her 10th studio album, Midnights, in October 2022, Taylor Swift is undeniably one of the world's most successful solo artists. Unsurprisingly, she's built up a huge collection of homes over the years and her property portfolio is said to be worth $81 million (£65m). However, one particular property not only means a lot to Swift herself, but to her millions of fans around the world...
Taylor Swift's Cornelia Street townhouse available to rent

Nestled on Cornelia Street in New York City, this is the property that inspired Swift's iconic 2019 song of the same name, which featured on her seventh studio album, Lover. When the song was released, Swift's fans were keen to know more about the Cornelia Street pad and now they have the chance, because the quaint carriage house was recently listed on the rental market for $45,000 (£36k) a month.

The 'Anti-Hero' singer rented the home in 2016, while her Tribeca townhouse was undergoing a renovation. It's thought that she paid $38,000 (£30.3k) a month to stay here. During her tenure at the property, many believe romance blossomed between Swift and her reported ex-boyfriend, English actor Joe Alwyn. The historic home was constructed in 1899, but thanks to a recent makeover the living spaces are chic and contemporary throughout.

Inside, the carriage house offers approximately 5,500 square feet of space, despite the fact the building is only 21 feet wide. There's a lovely living room that opens onto a private terrace, a modern kitchen, four bedrooms and five full baths. Key design details include dramatic double-height ceilings finished with exposed beams, pretty fireplaces, blonde parquet floors and leaded glass windows and doors.

Some of the bedrooms come with private balconies, where Swift no doubt enjoyed her morning coffees or pulled out her guitar for a late-night session under the stars. The pad even has an indoor lap pool and on warmer days, the space can be opened up to connect it with the exterior patio.

The lovely historic home comes with its very own rooftop terrace, with stunning views of downtown Manhattan. The space benefits from a living area and enough room for an outdoor kitchen and even a hot tub. We can certainly see what drew Swift to this remarkable piece of real estate.
Brad Pitt buys a mid-century modern bungalow

Actor and producer Brad Pitt is not only an Oscar winner but one of the most recognisable stars in the world. He's also incredibly wealthy, with his movies and wine-making business bringing in a reported $400 million (£319m). Yet the Babylon star is also passionate about architecture and design, and has an impressive property portfolio to prove it.
Brad Pitt buys a mid-century modern bungalow

In April 2023, Brad Pitt sold his $33 million (£26m) Hollywood Hills estate and, according to Dirt, was left without a Los Angeles residence. But that didn't last long because the actor soon snapped up this cosy mid-century modern home for $5.5 million (£4.4m), buying it from oil heiress, Aileen Getty. Coincidentally, Getty was the buyer of his Hollywood Hills home – talk about trading spaces!
Brad Pitt buys a mid-century modern bungalow

Built in 1960, the property is relatively modest for a celebrity home, but there's a chance Pitt is simply going to renovate and flip the place. Aptly known as the Steel House, the 2,000-square-foot residence is all steel and glass, allowing for lovely views across leafy Los Feliz.

As for the interior, there are plenty of amazing period fixtures throughout, including beamed ceilings, terrazzo floors and cantilevered eaves. Modern and sleek, the property was restored by acclaimed designer Mark Haddawy in the 2000s. So, if Pitt is going to make this his full-time home, then he won't need to lift a finger.

Across the home, you'll find a combined living and dining room with access to a terrace and a small but perfectly formed retro kitchen with iconic Formica worktops. There are three bedrooms, each with bold cobalt blue carpets. The master has an ensuite and walk-in closet with custom cabinetry.

Outside, there's a sunny backyard, equipped with a swimming pool and patio. Whether he bought it to live in or renovate and flip, we can certainly see why Pitt wanted to snap up this unique historic home.
Rihanna buys Matthew Perry's penthouse

With an impressive career as a chart-topping musician and a thriving business that made her the world's youngest self-made female billionaire, Rihanna isn't just a celebrity, she's a brand. The star has spent her riches wisely, though, buying, renting and flipping dozens of properties over the years. However, her latest purchase isn't what you might expect...
Rihanna buys Matthew Perry's penthouse

Since 2014, Rihanna’s primary residence has been a luxury apartment inside The Century, one of the most prestigious skyscrapers in the heart of Los Angeles. However, since she now has a second child on the way, it seems the mega-star is in need of more space. Apparently keen not to move too far, she snapped up The Century's penthouse condo, which spans the entire 40th floor of the building.

The 9,290-square-foot property also once belonged to Friends star, Matthew Perry, who off-loaded it two years ago for $21.6 million (£17.2m). Rihanna bought the place from billionaire tech wiz, Nick Molnar, paying $21 million (£16.7m), which means Molnar took a hefty loss on his initial investment.

It's fairly clear why so many VIPs are drawn to the place. A private elevator leads to the penthouse and opens into the condo’s entrance gallery, which boasts a huge living room with curving walls of glass. The space flows through to a dining room and kitchen, and elsewhere you'll find a soundproof movie theatre, four bedrooms and six bathrooms.

The master suite is truly stunning. Featuring a simple design, its panoramic windows allow the view to take centre stage. The home's interior design was undertaken by Perry, who hired architect Scott Joyce and interior designer LM Pagano to renovate the place during his ownership. However, we're sure Rihanna will put her own stamp on the place once she moves in.

Even better, the apartment benefits from not one, but four separate outdoor terraces, which face in different directions. This means Rihanna and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, can enjoy scenic views of the Pacific Ocean, Catalina Island, Downtown Los Angeles and even the San Gabriel mountains. Not too shabby!
Michael B. Jordan flips his modern farmhouse

Best known for his roles in the Creed and Black Panther movie franchises, Michael B. Jordan is quickly becoming a highly sought-after actor, and is thought to have a net worth of around $25 million (£20m). But as well as being a talented actor, the star also seems to be trying his hand at property flipping.
Michael B. Jordan flips his modern farmhouse

In May 2022, Jordan doled out $12.5 million (£10m) for this stunning house in the Encino neighbourhood of Los Angeles. However, less than a year later he decided to part ways with the place, listing it with The Agency for slightly less than $13 million (£10.4m), despite the fact that the actor is said to have spent $500,000 (£399k) upgrading the home's security and air-conditioning systems. This means he likely won't make a profit on his purchase.

Built in 2021, the beautiful black house sprawls 12,300 square feet across three floors, and the living spaces are ultra-glamourous and contemporary. On the main level, there's a gourmet kitchen with a walk-in pantry and breakfast nook, a living room, a dining room and a wood-clad office.

Upstairs you'll find eight bedrooms, including the master suite, which is the ultimate sanctuary. With its wooden vaulted ceiling, sitting area, private balcony, dual walk-in closets and his-and-hers ensuites, the space is fit for an A-lister.

There are plenty of glitzy amenities too. As well as a stylish gym with a lap pool, there's also elevator access to all floors, a plush soundproof movie theatre, a bar and a temperature-controlled wine room. As for interior design, every single space has been meticulously crafted and is defined by the finest materials, including glass, steel, marble and wood.

Outside, there's a half-acre garden with a pool and spa, a firepit, a barbecue and a bar. There's even a cabana with a fireplace, a two-storey guesthouse and a separate structure that Jorden turned into his own private wellness centre for massages. We're not sure why Jordan is saying goodbye, but we're sure he'll be sorry to let this prized property go.
Calvin Harris is still trying to sell his Beverley Hills mansion

British DJ and record producer Calvin Harris first gained popularity in 2007, when he released two smash-hit singles, 'Acceptable in the 80s' and 'The Girls'. But soon, the Scottish musician was making waves around the world, collaborating with pop stars including Rihanna, Kelis and Pharrell Williams. He even briefly dated Taylor Swift! Today, the DJ is thought to be worth $300 million (£240m). Since his rise to fame, Harris has swapped his hometown of Dumfries for the sunny climes of Beverley Hills...

Harris snapped up this stunning hillside mansion in 2014 when it was first built. He paid a cool $15 million (£12m) for the place, despite the fact it was "a shell", according to Dirt. But thanks to a thorough and very expensive renovation, the place is now a dreamy and contemporary oasis, worthy of a VIP owner.

The sprawling 117,000-square-foot compound is made up of five separate structures, including a main residence, a two-storey guest home that's currently set up as two recording studios, a security office, a guest house and a five-car garage with elevator access to a state-of-the-art movie theatre. The main house boasts four bedrooms, a huge entrance hall kitted out with a piano, numerous gorgeous living rooms, a bar, a contemporary kitchen and a wine closet with glass walls.

Chic coffered ceilings take precedence throughout the singer’s property, merging the traditional white colonial exterior with contemporary flourishes within. Handsome herringbone hardwood floors can be found in the living areas, while the open-plan kitchen features stone floors and marble worktops.

The master suite, which is one of 10 bedrooms across the compound, boasts a vaulted beamed ceiling, a sitting area with a fireplace and direct access to a patio overlooking the lush garden. There's even an amazing standalone fitness studio.

Outside, there's almost three acres of space, where you'll find a glorious pool, a sun deck, a custom pergola with an outdoor kitchen, a sports court and a lounge kitted out with a firepit. Harris first tried to offload the place in early 2022, listing it for $25 million (£20m). Yet despite struggling to find a buyer and switching listing agents several times, the DJ hasn't opted to drop the price. The property is still for sale right now, via The Altman Brothers.
Bradley Cooper sells his first LA home

With a host of blockbusters and nine Oscar nominations under his belt, as well as a fortune estimated at $100 million (£80m), Bradley Cooper is one of the most successful actors of his time. So, of course, the Silver Linings Playbook star has plenty of cash going spare for amazing real estate.
Bradley Cooper sells his first LA home

Back in 2004, before he was really on anyone's radar, Bradley Cooper bought his first home in Los Angeles. At the time, the actor had starred in numerous TV shows and movies, mostly taking minor roles. It was 2009 before he got two big breaks, starring in He's Just Not That Into You, alongside Jennifer Aniston and Scarlett Johansson, before landing the role that made him in The Hangover. Yet despite coming such a long way, Cooper held onto this home – until now.

Located in the trendy Venice neighbourhood of Los Angeles, Cooper paid just $1.2 million (£959k) for the 1,571-square-foot residence, which was built in 1921. Now, the star has waved goodbye to his long-time home, listing it for $2.4 million (£1.9m). An offer for a cool $3.1 million (£2.5m) was made just seven days after it hit the market.

While the exterior of the home is tucked away behind mature landscaping and draped in a layer of wisteria, the interior is chic, bright and modern thanks to Paris-based designer, Santillane de Chanaleilles. Cooper hired her to transform the house, which now benefits from what the former listing described as “a natural and raw aesthetic”, with reclaimed wood ceilings, concrete accents, timber floors and heavily patterned tiles in the bathrooms.

Inside, there's an open-plan living room and kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. French and sliding doors open the living spaces up to the secluded, leafy garden at the back, while the master suite features its own alfresco living space for relaxing after a long day on set. There's also a detached structure – which was likely once a garage – that offers additional living space.

Head outside and the mature wisteria can be seen in all its glory. No doubt every summer the home's walls turn a gorgeous shade of purple as the flowers bloom. The sprawling yard also offers evergreen faux grass, a water feature, a built-in barbecue, a firepit, a dedicated dining area and a hot tub. We totally understand why Bradley Cooper held onto this beautiful property for as long as he did.
